TT2A Athlete of the Month :: November 2013

A busy month of November for the team with some local racing and a few races across the globe (US, Auz & Asia) for good measure… the nominations

1 November, Mamzar Park Triathlon Marci took on the Olympic Distance race and finished 5th in F40-49 (2:36:43) and Sharon completed the Sprint distance and finished 15th F40-49 (1:48:31).

8 November, Abu Dhabi Striders Half MarathonBen Walton ran his socks off and delivered himself over the finish line 5th overall in an awesome time of 1:16:46 that’s an average pace of 3.38 min/km. Holding 3.38’s for 21 km – just think about that! Ben loves running 🙂

10 November, Ironman 70.3 MandurahChief loves Western Australia, he races there a lot and he did the inaugural race in Mandurah last year and it’s a great race and comes highly recommended. last year Chief finished in 5:11:48, and this year 5:11:32 (PB 🙂 ) hows that for consistency. A good solid performance from the man yet again.

17 November, Ironman ArizonaStoli is currently the longest standing member of the team and did his third Ironman on home turf this year, and with the added pressure of performing in front of an audience of his family and friends he had only one goal, to finish strong with a PB. Well he achieved his goal and finished (12:06:37) with a PB of 18-mins.

24 November, Laguna PukhetPiers entered the classic Phuket race, it’s a fab race with the odd distances which makes it unique, there’s a 1.8km swim with the first part in open water with a little run over the beach in to a fresh water lagoon, the bike leg is 55km and it’s a bit hilly in places and you finish off with a nice 12km run through the golf course and small woods – very pleasant, although can be a bit hot and humid. Piers finished in 3:08:00 which gave him 13th in AG40-44, he seemed a bit disappointed with his own performance but we think it’s worth a nomination.
