I was updating the TT2A race calendar and it amazes me how many events are coming up in the second half of the year…. We’ve got an action packed August in store!! Capt J is flying the TT2A colours in the US again at the inaugural NYC Ironman event (11th Aug), and coincidentally we have Chief PomPom Sarah and King Edward spectating as they are in NYC on holiday… Hmm coincidence or not Edward tri geek extraordinaire??? 🙂 The very next day we have two races for us to savour… Mr National taking part in the IM 70.3 European Championships in
Weisbaden, Germany (12th Aug). It’ll be great to see National out in the paddock again as unfortunately he missed out on Roth last month due to illness!…Lets see how he handles those hills 🙂 and Henry is doing an Olympic Distance race, the Swannage Classic in Dorset, UK. We don’t see many shorter distance races in the team (yet) so this’ll be an interesting one to watch 🙂 On the 19th Aug we have our US contingent competing in two very different races… Illinois Pete doing the famous IM Timberman 70.3 in New Hampshire and Chicago will be in leafy Vermont racing for a QF sport in the US Sprint Nationals for 2013 ITU Worlds in London – exciting stuff, go USA 🙂 The following weekend 26th Aug we have another two races!!! Chicago making another outing, this time in his hometown, stepping up from Sprint to the Olympic Distance in Chicago. Back in Europe on the same day we see Miss Annie P, Paulo, Ian and The Chief race in Salzburg 70.3. Swimmer Kate will be taking in the action ‘live’ as she’ll be there in support, another pom-pom is born… go Kate!!! 🙂 We don’t rest up in September either as Capt Finn races again in the Almere Half Ironman Distance event in the Netherlands (8th Sep) after which we can rest up until the weekend of 22nd Sept when Stevie does the totally insane ‘Brutal’ Long Course Triathlon in Snowdonia – he has 48-hours to complete this mission. Tim Hawes makes the trip to IM 70.3 Worlds in Las Vegas. On the 23rd Sept Andy double debuts for TT2A and 70.3 racing in S.France in the IM Pays D’Aix 70.3. Three brave souls on three very hilly courses 🙂 October is the month of the World Championships.. Marshie will be returning to Kona on 13th Oct with two special pom-poms Mr & Mrs Annie P to support him and enjoy the atmostphere. Flanners (GBR) and Coach (Auz) will be going head
to head in AG40-44 with Capt Finn who will be representing the Netherlands in the ITU Sprint Worlds in NZ on 22nd Oct. Both races will be fun to watch 🙂 We see things slow down in November, Miss Annie P will be taking the mantle from Stoli and with be running the NYC Marathon on 4th Nov (Stoli did it last year). The annual TT2A pilgrimage to Phuket comes round again.. and most of the team will be going as usual – if not for the races for the parties – with the Laguna Classic on 25th Nov followed on a week later, and taking us nicely into December by the Phuket 70.3 on 2nd Dec. We finish off the year with another favorite… IM Western Australia in Bussleton on 9th Dec where Lisa, Ahmed, Piers, Chief and Tim race under the watchful eye of an honorary pom-pom and IM veteran IM Capt. Carl who’ll be escorting his lovely wife Noeline who’ll be dusting off those pom-poms yet again 🙂 If I’ve missed anyone’s race – let me know so I can update the calendar! 🙂 Happy racing guys, its why we train so hard 🙂 P.S. There are already a few races locked in for 2013 with Batman racing IM Melbourne, the Sea Shepherd doing IM Lake Placid and he likes of Paulo and National doing Challenge Roth!
