Coach continues on his quest to QF for the Australian AG Team for the ITU World Championships in New Zealand in October and takes part in his second and last qualifying race. He’s racing the Australian Sprint Championships on Sunday 29-Jan under steamy Canberra racing conditions. The M40-44 field is loaded and unfortunately Jason is carrying a calf tear, an injury he picked up in his last race 2-weeks ago in Kurnell.
Word is he’s managed to continue training in swimming and biking on the HT and did his first run yesterday – he ‘thinks’ he’ll be able to bear the pain and run 4-mins/kms. If he gets in the Top 10 or so, he should make the team and that’s all he wants. We all know Jason, if he’s in the hunt, he’ll throw caution to the wind and tear his calf even more so let’s hope he manages to play it safe. We know he’s heavily strapped up and has said he’s looking forward to belting the swim and bike at the very least…
Good luck Coach, make your team proud 🙂
